Battle Of the Bands
Rules
1. Bands must perform at least (3) three songs for judging and will be allowed no more than 15 minutes on stage.
2. Band members will dress in appropriate clothing intended for a family audience. Clothing that depicts themes of drug or alcohol use or any form of physical or sexual violence will "not" be permitted on stage.
3. Bands whose lyrics or body actions depict any form of abuse, profanity or sexual innuendos will be disqualified.
4. Bands are encouraged to advertise for the event. Food and drinks will be available for artists and guests.
5. A $10 regstration fee is needed to secure your spot. Make checks payable to Oasis. Send checks to 1 Heather Lane, Terryville, CT 06786
Details
a. Oasis will provide microphones if requested Oasis will not provide any instruments, amps, or other equipment.
b. Bands/Talents must arrive and check-in no later than 30 minutes prior to their time slot
c. Each band/talent will be responsible for setting up and tearing down their own equipment. Oasis tech staff will be present to help with the set-up and tear down of microphones and monitors.
d. Each band/talent will be allotted 10 minutes for set-up and 5 minutes for tear down.
Time taken over the allotted minutes for set-up will take away from the bands allotted stage time.
Set-up time overlaps with the previous bands/talents teardown time. Bands/Talents must be respectful to the equipment and the members of the other bands/talents present.
Battle of the Bands Judging Criteria
Bands will be judged on the five criteria listed below:
1. Musicianship: How well do you play your instrument, sing?
Scale from 1 to 10
2. Visual Presentation: Stage presence, clothes, actions on stage?
Scale from 1 to 10
3. Originality: What makes your band different, unique?
Scale from 1 to 10
4. Audience Response: How well does the audience like you?
Scale from 1 to 10
5. Professionalism: Set up and break up time, appropriate language,
positive attitude, etc?
Scale from 1 to 10
TOTAL POINTS (5- 50)
A panel of judges will score musicians using a point system. Judges will award points in each category using a point system. If bands end up in a tie, the following individual category scores will decide the winner (in order): Stage Presentation, Song Quality & Originality, and Audience Response.
